All Working Together For The Fun Of It!

The Merchants of Whitefish Bay, the Village of Whitefish Bay, and the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation bring you activities all year long. Here are some of the featured events and happenings available for all to enjoy, Yippee!

Bay Day

“Bay Day” is a community spirit happening, the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation, Merchants of Whitefish Bay, Whitefish Bay Public Education Foundation, and the Village of Whitefish Bay team up for this eco-themed event.  The event this year will take place from Saturday, April 24 to Sunday, May 2. Leading up to the event, information will be shared about resident participation with the goal of a greener Bay, including composting, recycling during the pandemic, medication disposal, and more! Bay Day includes:
  • Recycle Day: Watch the Village newsletter for ways to support sustainability in our community. Information will be provided about small-group, socially distant, masked, clean-up activities taking place during the week. Note: The traditional recycling drop-off will not take place in 2021.
  • Run the Bay: Lace up your sneakers and enjoy this virtual run/walk race. We encourage you to put the headphones down and enjoy the natural beauty of the Bay, whether it’s solo or with your family. All proceeds go back to the Whitefish Bay Public Education Foundation. Register today at
  • Music Day in the Bay: Local musicians will delight residents and neighbors with a 3-hour, roving concert. Enjoy the music while you #ShopLocal and support one of our great local Merchants of Whitefish Bay. The Merchants welcome all Bay Day participants and their families to shop Silver Spring Drive for some great Bay Day promotions!
Members of all four organizations continue the planning process to make this an impactful, and safe, community event. Watch for information on how you can win valuable prizes from our Merchants!

The Whitefish Bay Farmers’ Market

Each Saturday Morning from June 11th, 2021 to October 16th, 2021, starting at 9 am until 1:00 pm, the Farmers’ Market commences on the corner of Silver Spring at Santa Monica, 325 E. Silver Spring Drive (to be exact), in the Aurora Parking lot. It is an open-air market with various vendors who sell fresh and organic produce, meats, breads, flowers, honey, vegan, gluten-free, sweets, coffee, eggs, and more!    A few times a season, we add artists to the mix to sell their goods. There is usually music weekly from 10-12:00.  Entry and music are all free, and it is a great place to meet your friends. Simply UnBeetable!  Shoppers leave the market and stroll down Silver Spring, stopping in at other businesses along the way. For more information contact:

Whitefish Bay Art Fest

Whitefish Bay Art Fest, a juried art festival, will be taking place the second weekend in July on East Silver Spring Drive in Whitefish Bay this summer! Show hours will be 10 am – 5 pm daily.

The free-admission festival will feature artists from near and far showcasing and selling paintings, photographs, wall art, handcrafted jewelry, sculpture, wearables, and mixed media work. Art at all price points will be available for purchase. Many exciting art demos will take place daily.

The Merchants of Whitefish Bay and Village are excited to have a cultural family-friendly event in the downtown business district. The Merchants of Whitefish Bay are working closely with Amdur Productions, producers of well-known fine art festivals in the Midwest, in the production of this annual event.

In addition to the art, there will be a hands-on art-making area with art projects for all. Family-friendly activities like Art Fest Bingo will add to the fun. Live music throughout the festival will add to the weekend. The festival is wheel-friendly for strollers, scooters, and wheelchairs too.

The 4th of July

The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation hosts the 4th of July celebration on Silver Spring Drive, and it would not be summer in WFB without the annual Whitefish Bay 4th of July celebration. The parade starts at 11:30 am at the corner of Kent and Silver Spring Dr and heads east to Lake Drive then north to Klode Park. Following the parade, join friends, family, and neighbors at Klode Park for an afternoon of food, kid’s activities, and live music. The fireworks display starts at 9:20 pm.

Remember your chairs and blankets to watch the fireworks.

The Side Walk Sale

The third Friday in July starts with many businesses opening early to bring their goods outdoors, creating a lively environment for shoppers. Sales continue through the day on Saturday, when the closing of Berkeley Blvd adds to the fun. There, the Merchants of Whitefish Bay and Yellow Wood offer an active kids adventure zone with a climbing wall and more. It is a free event for the community to enjoy while shopping on Silver Spring and supporting local merchants!

Sounds of Summer

The Merchants of Whitefish Bay team up with the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation to host this awesome event. Enjoy the last lazy days of summer at the Sounds of Summer Concert on Silver Spring Drive. Silver Spring is closed from Hollywood Blvd. to Santa Monica Blvd. starting at 11:00 am. Bring your chairs, table cloths, and make it a picnic.

Trick or Treat/Halloween

The last Saturday of October is when Silver Spring turns into a howling good time, with many of the merchants handing out candy to kids and their families from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. We then encourage you to stop at the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation’s Great Pumpkin display at School House Park before or after Trick or Treating. Ghouls and goblins fill the street for the annual event (insert extended wolf howl here)!

Holiday Stroll

Our biggest event. It is always the Friday after Thanksgiving. It starts with businesses offering specials during the day for Black Friday and then ending the night with a Holiday Parade, which includes Santa. Businesses along the street offer hot cider, hot chocolate, activities for families, including free pony rides and train rides for the kids, and Nutcracker Ballet Dancers from the Milwaukee School of Ballet that perform in some storefront windows. Following the parade, there is the Holiday Tree Lighting with the WFBHS Choir singing songs.

2020 included ‘Ice Sculpture Demonstrations’ and an ‘Ice Sculpture Crawl’ where families could stroll Silver Spring Drive and enjoy over 15 Ice Sculptures from the various merchants!
