The Merchants of Whitefish Bay strive to improve our community and support all of our Merchant members. We aim to highlight the local establishments to increase awareness for everyone in our neighborhood and beyond.
Making gourmet candy has been a Burke family tradition since 1929. Through four generations, our family has been passionate about making the highest quality chocolates, caramels, toffees, truffles and confections.
While some of our family recipes date back almost 100 years, others were discovered with some inspired creativity in the kitchen. We’re not afraid to get our hands dirty, especially when caramel and chocolate are involved. We still make all of our candy and ingredients in small batches using only the finest ingredients, like Wisconsin AA grade butter, natural cane sugar, and freshly roasted nuts.
We are located at 513 E. Silver Spring Dr. We are excited to bring a fun, happy candy experience to Whitefish Bay. Julia & Tim Burke are the owners of Burke Candy along with their Son, Eddie and Daughter, Catherine Burke. They are passionate candy makers and looking to bring their experience from River West to Whitefish Bay, opening March 29th, 2022!
Our Story
25 years ago, Julia opened her first retail location inside their ingredient manufacturing plant, which still exists today. The Burke family has always had a vision to expand into a wonderful community, like Whitefish Bay. We are so excited to introduce our delicious Sea Salt Caramels, Peanut Butter Crunch Bomb and English Toffee (to name a few) as well as officially opening our doors to the community!
This project started over a year ago, when Catherine and Julia contacted Amy Carman design to bring their vision to life. After a few challenges with supply chain, their vendors were able to pull off a beautiful, whimsical., welcoming space to be enjoyed by all. Thanks to Amy Carman Design, Carman Made and JFT Construction.
